We use a number of safety / pace vehicles at our track depending on the type of race and the number of people available. Here is some information on the cars we use.
F1 recently introduced a safety car and therefore we had to follow with this beautiful silver Mercedes. Although only 6 cars can be on track at once, we can quickly ID this car on a separate powerbase, to use the ID of a crashed vehicle if the safety car needs to be deployed during a race.
The Carrera Safety Car was purchased by the club to be the offical safety car for the DTM series. The DTM features cars from Audi, BMW and Mercedes, so an Audi safety car is a perfect fit for the championship. As it has the “24 Le Mans” it can also be used for any GT series. The safety car can be used to slow the field after an accident.
We also have a Fire Marshall vehicle at our track which can attend the scene of any big accidents. This vehicle also assists with the medical team and can sit behind the grid at the start of a race, so it can arrive at the scene of an accident quickly.
