With time passing so quickly, we found another Scalextric launch range creeping up on us. After the recent drop off of BTCC cars, which have been our main purchase over recent years, we were expecting a very lean year, which would have been good for our wallet as well as space. So no-one could have been more surprised when the new range was finally released.
As fans of the British Touring car Championship, we were amazed to see the Nissan Primera from the Super Touring era. No complaints from us here, although as with last years BMW, it seems odd that they are only releasing one car from a two-car team. They will also be releasing the red Matt Neal Primera, which was a good performing car from the era. It seems it is their policy now to only release one car per year, so it could take a few years to make a full grid.
Moving on, we were very happy to see a new Ford Sierra Sapphire of Robb Gravett from the 1990 Championship. This will fit nicely into our historic Championship, even if it did not race against the Rover SDIs or Jaguars in real life.

Whilst we are on the topic of BTCC Rover SDIs, Scalextric have popped another livery into the 2026 range. We were only expecting to have one or two Rovers, but cannot leave one out of the collection. The blue livery is quite close to some of the RS500 liveries, but it’s still an essential purchase.

Rallycross and rally fans are in for a treat this year too, as there are multiple cars in the range. There is a Ford Escort Cosworth, two brand new Celica GTs, an Austin Metro 6R4 and Pat Doran’s legendary RS200. On top of that, there is a modern Ford Puma.

If that was not enough, Scalextric have also announced a Ford Motorsport Transit and Escort Mk 1 – Twin Car Pack. Although it probably won’t fit in with our plans, we can only applaud the idea as it looks great and will really work for some.
There are also some new GT cars, a splattering of F1s and some modern day twists on historic cars, such as another Volvo Estate.
The 2026 launch came as a real surprise to us, with plenty of good cars to add to our collection. It seems that 2026 could end up being a very expensive year and hopefully a good one for Scalextric.
